Visit Shiner Texas?
While Shiner may be a small Texas town, it’s filled with a whole lot of history. Members of the community happily invite you to participate in local events, shop owners greet you as you enter their stores, and our authentic country style will undeniably charm you.
One of the best features of Shiner is its central location between Austin, Houston, and San Antonio. We are a short drive from all three major cities, and Shiner is surrounded by other fun small Texas towns like Hallettsville, Luling, and Flatonia.
Shiner Brewery – One of the most notable landmarks in Shiner is the Spoetzl Brewery. Founded in 1909, this is where it all began for Shiner beer. They currently produce 1.2 million barrels per year! Brewery tours are available Monday through Friday and hours vary. General information about tours is available by calling (361) 584-3852. The Shiner gift shop can be reached at (361) 594-4294.
Welhausen Park – Located directly across the street from the property in the heart of Shiner, this ADA compliant park is a great place to take a stroll. Let your kids enjoy the playground, read about some of the historic artifacts, or enjoy a picnic under the large oak trees in this meticulously maintained public space. Many of the annual Shiner events take place in Welhausen Park, including Christmas in the Park the first Thursday of December.
Saint Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church – For those who appreciate art and architecture, you won’t want to miss this location. The dome alter is noteworthy, and the stained glass windows were imported from Munich, Germany. They even show the names of the families who donated them in Czech.
Edwin Wolters Memorial Museum – If you want to tour a 2-story house full of amazing finds, this is the museum for you. The guide is exceptional, and the extensive collection of memorabilia is guaranteed to impress.
Are you looking for something fun to do with the kids? If so, we recommend the Licorice and Lemon Drops Old Fashioned Candy Shop for all ages. We guarantee they have something for everybody, and it’s hard to leave there without a smile on your face. Alternatively, we also recommend the Shiner Escape Rooms for family entertainment.
